Sustained low efficiency dialysis (SLED) is increasingly used as a renal replacement modality in critically ill patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) and hemodynamic instability. SLED may reduce the hemodynamic perturbations of intermittent hemodialysis, while obviating the resource demands/expense of continuous renal replacement therapies (CRRT). This app is used in conjunction with citrate anticoagulation and computes the ultrafiltration rate and calcium and magnesium concentrations required for adequate anticoagulation to prevent clotting of the dialyzer over a 24 hour period.
